As long as the pump is not running, it will stop dripping/running after a while.
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

      Safety time.

Don't work on the fuel rail with a warm engine if it can be avoided and use some bit of old towel to adsorb any fuel that escapes when you loosen the unions. Have new washers ready for the banjo bolts, reusing the old one's is asking for trouble.

Not a difficult job at all though.

Hello - a bit of a resurrection bet releavnt. Have refitted the banjos with new copper washers but still leaking (v fine spray) Is there a torque setting as I dont want to strip the threads in the rail or the bolts. Is there a trick to it - the diagram shows washers on both sides of the banjo which I have done but both still leaking. Ony observation is the originals are steel washers and the new ones are copper which I thought would have sealed better. Thanks for any info as car wont fire at all and until I can cure this leak, cant check the HT cables etc. Cheers

Anealing the washers will help them seal, but don't do it too close to your "open" rail !!

The original washers are aluminium which is softer than copper. Are the new washers the correct size? Copper should seal find but will need to be tightened a little more. Are there any deep scratches on the banjo or fitting?

Thanks John and Tractor Dave. They are the exact same size but didnt realise aluminium would be softer. Have studied them under magnifying glass and fine spray, thick as a human hair, is coming from seat of copper washer. Will try and find some aluminium washers. No scratches to the seats of the banjo or the rail as I took care watching out for that
