seen this done on a few cosworths where they double up on injectors and on that picture of that 25v 2.2 engine that was posted the other day, obviously the ecu would need a remap and i would expect higher fuel rail pressure but would anything be gained from this instead of using 5 higher volume injectors?

This also interests me as I have little mechanical knowledge.
It was explained to me by the guy that put my engine together ( he specialises in Cossies!) that putting an extra 5 injectors is the way to go (interestingly, apparently some bikes also doubling up injectors). In this way the car idles more smoothly and prevents overfuelling which could result in cylinder (bore) wash.
What are other peoples thoughts?

im buying an aan manifold so while im cutting and caving that i was going to machine 5 more holes on the underside for injectors if it was a feaseable idea
In very high output applications, if you can find the way of putting some narrow spray pattern injectors in the outer plenum plate, with the injector spraying over each runner bellmouth, you will enhance mid to high rpm performances.
On high rpms and flow velocityes the fuel injected in the OEM position just doesn't have the time to perfectly mix to the air stream, so if a stand alone ECU able to run 5 + 5 injectors or an additional injection module (even a piggy back ECU might work) is used, the additional injectors could start spraying at air flows where the OEM ones run out of flow.
I think it can be done with higher flowing injectors eliminating the need for an extra 5 next to OEM ones, I know doug has some of these and they are good for high HP applications.
Im not sure, you could probably use the same signal to drive another output stage to run some more injectors. But with larger injectors you dont need to add more injectors.
The stock ECU can be programmed to operate 10 injectors, I have BTDT already.
BUT, you don't really need them. There are 650+ cc/min injectors available in high-impedance which run and idle just fine with a Motronic ECU controlling them. Doug has them and so does Mark...

I had thought about 10 injectors, but didnt see the point after Mihnea came up with the 550cc injectors that i have. These are coping fine at fuelling for my BHP. Maybe if I go for 550bhp I will have to change up to Dougs/Marks size
