which fuel pump would you use

Iam going to run a bosch 044 motorsport pump inside its own little swirl pot (034 motorsport one) but ive been told i need to have a feed pump to keep the pot full at all times. So i need a high volume feed pump???
any ideas what are others using??
    thanks

If it's a proper swirl pot then the oem pump is fine for a street setup as you should set it up so the lift pump is not under any fuel pressure and therefore will keep the pot full quite easily.

If you really want to change it look at the bosch 040 pump for instance

      hi jamo
yep its for my s1e2 project so not for road use, so i could use bosch 040 in line between tank and the pot? with a return back from pot to tank
      thanks

No you use it in the tank not inline hence a 040, a lifter should not be under fuel pressure he, rate of flow becomes more restricted by increased pressure, under 0 pressure the oem pump will do the job

I cant use in tank but if i use a in line to fill pot and the excess goes back to the tank, then the 044 pumps from pot to rail under press.
tank to pot and return would have very little pressure??
          thanks

None in tank? that would mean the inline pump would have to be gravity fed

yep the 044 is grav feed but they tell me i need another pump just to be sure. Both would be grav feed

i know i thought one would have been enough

You need a pump to feed the swirl pot. Whatever system and position the tank you have in the car currently, if it's a standard urq fuel tank then you just need the original fuel feel system from that car. The stock pump will easily keep the swirl pilot full as it operates under virtually not pressure so has plenty of flow.

The only way is if you've modified the tank and gravity feed to an inline pump to feed the swirl pot.

Seen it done on american cars but I don't see why you would not just use the oem position for lift

The tank is a custom alloy tank and sits between the rear strut towers and the 044 is sitting the the spare tyre well so there is about a foot of hose between the two on the boot floor where the in line lift pump would need to go. Everything is above the floor for protection ,its gravel spec rally.
                    thanks
