Yup but as you can see from the pic, the main impact area was the grille,,,,the number plate is totally untouched, thing is I had so little distance to stop, I had the brakes on that hard with the ABS going crazy, the car was on its nose and my front bumper has gone under his rear bumper (54 plate mondeo )
These cars are strong, but when you think about it, what protection has it got at the front?? a flimsy piece of metal and an aux radiator,,,,then it's the engine

                  It'll polish out

I had a similar affair with my 2,8 Coupe quattro some years ago. Front area looking similar, cost me a fortune to re-do, while the golf 2 I hit on the rear hat itself polished with a tissue towel in about five minutes.
Fourrings, our S2 cars are twin brothers, same colour...and I would consider suicide if this demolish was on mine.

Going back on topic guys (since i still need help!)

                        1) check coolant pipe too Turbo
                        2) Pipe behing IM near PS pump

                        Anywhere else to check?

As soon as i can muster up some fit and able bodies (would you believe my other mate has also dislocated his shoulder, what a pair we look like!)

As soon as i put it in the coolant p*sses out then the level holds out at about 1/4 full in the reserviour.

Check the connections at the after run pump, its only plastic and can crack easily. BTDT.

If all of the above does not find the leak (and assuming its not the headgasket) look very hard at the main and aux rads - sometimes the leak is very hard to find as it evaporates off before you can see it and will not leak except under pressure (BTDT for both hoses, rads and afterrun pump). I find it odd that your level drops and then stabilises - are you sure its not the expansion tank itself ?

When you say the pipe behind the IM near the pas pump, are you meaning the one down on the block that connects the stat. I've heard of this perishing and leaking..

                                There's two hoses like this.

One attaches to the stat housing. the other is below the PAS pump. Both are common fail items. They're only about 4 inches long and access is best with the radiator removed and the PAS pump lifted out the way.

Good picture here of the short hose to the stat housing:

Last picture at bottom of page. Part number is listed at top.
