I'm just about ready to install the 3B and crank it over for the first time in about a year. The engine has been fully restored with new seals, gaskets, hoses, etc., but has not had oil or any other fluids in it for quite some time. I'm just wondering if there is anything i should do so as not to damage the engine or turbo upon start-up. i thought about putting oil directly into the turbo where the feed line connects. what about a few drops into each cylender?
thanks in advance!

Definitley put clean oil in the turbo. Disconnect the top feed pipe and pour some oil in then spin the turbo with your fingers (remove hose on the cold side to do this) a few times to coat the bearings. This is the advice I was given when fitting a recon turbo.
Not sure about the cylinder but I giess it wouldn't do it any harm?

I personally would probably put a drop or two of oil in each cylinder and spin it over for 10 seconds or so! With no compression it will spin quick enough to achive a reasonable oil pressure to pre-lube everything. Its kinder than letting it fire first! (assuming it would fire first turn but maybe not after time?)
Money is everything! Second to Power of course!!! But money breeds power??
I wasnt sure of the merits of pre lubing the turbo since when the engine is turned off it has a large drain pipe to remove oil from the turbo to stop it overheating?
