Ok thanks. What sort of power can you achieve. I only throw the holset into the mix as you can get a brand new one for about half the cost of the other options. I would prefer a turbo that will be boosting hard by 3000 rpm ish and supply 500bhp approx.
I didn't put the car on the dyno but I was told by PRJ it can do 430 HP.
But this turbo won't be boosting hard by 3000 RPM.
Here is a video with the car accelerating, but it's was with the first map which wasn't the best, this is my first flat out of the car after the 1000km break-in period
I have Super 40 and see 2 bar at 4200 rpm in 3rd gear (2450ccm and 7A cams). If you had boost at 4000rpm with hx35 then most probably you had a very big turbine housing.

No way IMHO. Not with 2.2L, and still very hard with 2,5L.
I know 2 guys with nearly or around 500hp with GTX3071; GTX3076 is good for more.
EFR 7670 is possible is able to do that.. K27.2 with the right compressor wheel ist good for that power, and there also is a way to get it with K26/27 turbo.
i have full boost 2.2 bar on 3800 rpm with a gt3076r with AR 0.82
this turbo will do 525hp max
with a AR 0.63 you have full boost on +- 3600 rpm
there is now way with a 500hp turbo you will get full boost on 3000 rpm
i believe the gt3071r have full boost on +-3300 rpm but can't make 500hp

Having had the Gt3076 with both 0.82 and 0.63ar I will say that the 0.82ar will get the above mentioned spool but will gradually with wear and tear go to a more realistic 4000rpm. The 0.63ar will gain you 300 rpm sooner spool but with surge and so you have to be careful with how much boost you demand early on. It will definitely feel more alive than the 0.82 ar but again may not get you to 500 hp without a serious porting of the head and ADU cams or other. It's a compromise.
I now use the HTA3076 variation with the 0.63ar ported head with larger valves 81.5 size pistons and ADU cams as my car is an rs2 and I have a rough 480 - 490 crank hp measured on the road with data logging. It spools just like the 3076 0.63ar and produces power better than the original due to a lighter billet wheel with different design.
If I ever changed I'd give the GTX3576 a go with the 0.63ar to get to 500 hp more comfortably. Expensive turbo but I wouldn't go to holsets again. The other option would be the GTX3071 with either the 0.63 or 0.82ar for near similar results with higher possibility of better spool
On my 2.2 engine the HX40 super had full boost on 3d at 4700rpm
I would go with Holset HX35 Super. You get for real 500+hp with really great spool, ~3500rpm with no surge. It's also a very reliable turbo, available with or without watercooling.

One of the best housings would be the quite small #8 size. The HX35 wont be able to reach 500hp, it must be the "Super". It will reach ~530hp quite easily. And a big WG is recommended, 60mm.
