Used in a proper way, BBs won´t give it up after 1000 km. So for non daily driven cars, tuning freaks, guys who want to have more power every 2 years, they will be fine. Well mapped and if the user knows how to handle turboscharged motors of course.

But if the car is driven daily, and has to last a few years, or if someone wants to do the whole tuning thing just one time, and then is happy with the power, journal bearings are in fact more reliable.

For the 500hp step I would recommend the gtx3071 as said before, which is able to do that nearly at limit, but hast best spool and boost at lowest rpm, or the gtx3076, which will boost a bit later and bit slower spool, but can give 500hp with more safety- or more hp if wanted :-)

S2 max rev with hydro is about 7500rpm, depending on cams I would try to set ppeak power level at 6500-7000rpm.

I would stay away from all that billett stuff, or chargers under 1000€.
Not really right,Holset with small hot side is cheaper and can make same o better power.Dyno sheet with very old holset 40 (h1e) 10cm hot side make for me 520hp with 7a cams and boost was only 1.5-1.7bar.If you will take same holset 40 or 35 just with billet wheel and small hot side would be even better. My full boost at 4500rpm.

Sorry but 520hp with 4500rpm of boost/torque is as slow as a turtle...

So how come the gt35 had this wear? Maybe It's because my car is a daily car rather than a race car.

@ Biturbo believe me, for a car that is meant for daily driving that is VERY slow. You guys think that someone wanting a 500 hp car is only for drag racing where you are going to run for 10-13 seconds all in the proper rev range. Try driving this car in traffic or some spirited roads... to be above 4000 rpm all the time to wale the car up is a tough work never mind the engine stress. Or try to overtake someone in 6th gear on the motorway while you are cruising at 3200rpm and 75mph. In that car. You have to drop one or 2 gears every time otherwise a standard s2 will have long gone by the time you do.

That is the problem I had with my hx40super

You need a auto trans V8, would suite you a lot better than a oldschool turbo.

                  Reasoning why?
Because know-how, engineering and good materials cost money.
                  That is fact.
And I do not believe that brands or companies, that are in market for just a few years right now, are at once able to build a product as good but much cheaper than a company that is in business for decades now.
Either the material is...let´s name it sub-optimal- or the knowledge. I would say, in some cases both is...well- sub-optimal ;-)

So you are saying Holset hasn't been on the market for long, and they can't make a reliable turbo..?

Water and oil cooled turbo has my attention. When the engine is built, I'll be obliged to look into k26 flanged alternative to RS2, just to satisfy my OCD of course.

Can someone link a GT3071/76r/I5 dynochart with 3500rpm full boost and 500+hp.
