Shame I don't work somewhere with a mill anymore as I've an idea to modify the OE covers while maintaining their appearance.

What does he sell on facebook?

Oh I really like the look of that one - very tidy indeed and it appears to me the vast majority of heat will happily escape off those coil tops.

Also ... I am cross posting to this thread which may be of more general interest on the subject of coils etc -

There is also this on ebay.de (maybe Aaron, maybe not??). Neat but still likely going to trap heat and kill the coil packs prematurely. That said, I would buy one for show days where the hood is up but the engine is not running.

Jamos old white avant has the cover raised but Danny told me at ADI it wouldnt work with the standard throttle body (?) as the cover would catch on it with the ABY cam cover.... So im not sure if spacing a standard vanity cover up would work without it being notched in some way to cater for this....? Would be happy to be proved wrong though as I would love to put my one back on without the issue of heating the coils to death lol

I have 20mm spacers to try. Just wondered what existed and what others used...

I used carbon cover in my previous setup like Henkjan said above:

And I am going to use it as it was in my present setup, with a little touch with VHT wrinkle paint...

Lol. Yes it's the least hassle. You can use some spacers to lift the vanity cover off the cam cover to allow some airflow. Not sure how effective that would be. The cam cover pretty much touches the bonnet insulation anyway

    Mine's stage 4.32.256.

Think I'll look in to modifying an ABY/AAN/ADU effort for now.

No. I didn't say that. However, *IF* dmitri knows that you are running TFSI coil packs when he sets up the upgraded chip set for you (think Stage 1, Stage 1+, Stage 3, etc) then he will adjust the dwell accordingly.
