Easy way to use 034 RS2 replica injectors in 3b?

    hi folks,

new in here, my first post.

I am about to acquire the following set for reasonable price: http://store.034motorsport.com/rs2-r...set-21159.html

I have a nearly stock 3b though, it has an unknown software inside but I am about to find out soon.

It boosts to 1,3bar and is fine with me, I do not have any need to increase the current power level. Oh and yes I am running rs2 replica EM, but i guess that does not matter.
I just want to get rid of those old school 737 injectors and replace them with something else without spending a fortune on remapping my motronic.

It will run quite rich with 034 rs2 injectors, they are expected to flow 360cc/min @3 bar according to most sources while 3b injectors have different data
    303cc/min according to http://www.opel6070club.com/suutin.pdf
    304.8cc/min according to http://users.erols.com/srweiss/tableifc.htm
    315cc/min according to http://www.polog40.co.uk/article_injector_table.php
320cc/min according to some sources i am not able to find at the moment
    338cc/min according to https://www.usrallyteam.com/content/...ector_data.xls

If we say that 3b injectors flow 320cc/min and rs2 replicas do flow 360cc/min
    then: NP = [NF/OF * sqrt(OP)]^2
    np - new pressure
    nf - new flow
    op - orginal pressure
    np - new pressure
    [320/360 * sqrt(3)]^2 = 2,37bar :<
Long story short, how bad would the spray pattern of 034 rs2 replicas be at 2.37bar?

    Here, 034 rs2 replicas flow 357cc/min http://www.motorgeek.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=35954

It seems that I am better of using Volvo red injectors 0280155759
They should work as a drop-in replacement, right?
Alternatively there is a nearly identical alternative, the yellowish one, on the left side of the video: (click if the embedded video does not work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20a5kzKMXq0)

while the reds are on the right
Yellows have different spray pattern as they are used in applications with 2 intake valves
Here is info of the injectors:

Not sure which system to calcluate flow at "Qstat @ 3bar ml/min"
but 3b's are 304cc/min and red volvos are 315cc/min

anybody else tried this? i can't be the only one

      Fuel Injector Info

If you aren't remapping the ECU, then the 034 RS2 replica injectors will be too big for your 3B. Look else where or get your 3B injectors cleaned and refurbished professionally.

UrS4boy, please re-read my first post if you wish to help.
My main issue is what would happen if instead of remapping I just dropped the fuel pressure for rs2's to match my current flows as they are in 3b

But I have ordered 315cc red volvo injectors today for £38 incl shipping so probably this will work as a solution. But I will need a wideband to confirm that so I don't explode the engine.

Mine were cleaned once, but it seems that they are worn out, there is nothing really wrong with them, the atomization is a bit poor and there are differences in flow. And apart from new ones for 107EUR/injector there are no simple solutions, i mean, all of them are old and more or less worn out, and it is not worth paying that much money for brand new ones (that have 1 hole old school spray pattern anyway) - for 500eur I could just have thrown rs2 injectors, 7a cams, and probably even get a remap for that.

I see this as a kind of upgrade.

I did read your post. Personally I think dropping the fuel pressure as a work-around to possibly get injectors that are otherwise too large to work is a very poor solution since those injectors were designed to work at a given pressure.

For very little money and an inexpensive 3 Bar map sensor, you could use appropriately larger injectors and the stock K24-7000 turbo to get into the 270-280 hp range. Dmitri (prj) would certainly be able to help you with that.

Yes I do agree about prj, I was actually a click away from contacting him and buying rs2's... But for this time I just wanted to keep things simple and then I thought that changing both injectors and FPR (for dropping pressure) for no gain in power is too expensive when one considers the value/cost relationship, not even mentioning the fact that that might result in poor spray pattern/performance, hence this thread. If i am going up in power I will also change the turbo, and then do a remap. But for some reason I do want to keep this particular car stock.

Then bite the bullet and find a good set of 3B injectors from somebody who has upgraded their 3B with larger injectors properly.

Well I have purchased volvo injectors today (see previous posts) with same flow rate and hopefully better atomization as standard 3b injectors are not really good in that

I have no idea about their opening latency so I will have to see how they work. Hopefully ecu will compensate at lower loads when doing closed loop and at higher loads latency is less important as they are open for the most of the time.
and again, I will have to get a wideband for this purpose.

I am on my way of installing a wideband in the car. I do have some acceleration issues at WOT though

Does anybody have any idea, how rich the mixture should be on motronic controlled 3b on maximal load?
