    ¿Poor Running - Lambda?

So, following on from this thread - http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73812

I've had some part throttle hesitancy since doing some post ADI fixes to the car and originally thought it might be the new coils but when I fitted the coils, I also replaced he lambda sensor with a used one, which was kindly donated.

Having tried lots of coil related messing to fix the hesitancy, I decided to pull the lambda plug and run without it plugged in, to see if it still played up...

Result: car ran like it used to and was much smoother.

So, does this point directly at the lambda?

No codes and vagcom shows lambda 0.95-1.05 when cruising.

The car is also terrible on warm up after starting gone for 15s or so and the exhaust smells like it's running lean. WOT is good and it drives ok with more than half throttle.

    ¿?

        That's the one.

0 258 986 502 Will also do the job and is usually cheaper. It's the same just without the connectors which can be easily transferred from an old one.

New lambda and the car seems to be back to A1 again

I did discover a tired plug thread on my travels though but thankfully, I'll be taking all that bit apart in the near future

Usual story of doing a fair bit of work and so not really being able to pinpoint the problem, as it could be anything that's been touched, tweaked or moved. That was the cause of the original misfire, after I tweaked the delicate coil pack wiring and I'm fairly sure it started to short on the cam cover where it exits. Also a good example of fitting used parts, provided in good faith but that ultimately they were past their best The good news is that the exhaust is all sealed up, the lambda is new and I've got a TFSI coilpack conversion, all for about £250.

As I found out yesterday; it's now running well enough to spin the wheels in 2nd in the wet, so I happy again Must swap to my road wheels, as semi slicks don't work in a 5 degC torrential downpour!
