Plug and Play uprated fuel pump S4 2.2

What's the best aftermarket alternative for s4 2.2 fuel pump - i think mine just died :-) - i know 044 or 040 but need something that would fit the original location and keep the noise down :-).

PRY4SNO is liking the Deatschwerks DW300 from EFI Express:
    http://www.efiexpress.com/catalog/pr...roducts_id=123

I emailed Marc S. at EFI Express last night:

"> Marc: How good and how drop in is the Deutschwerk's C4 fuel pump you
    > offer? I think I am running out of fuel pressure at WOT with my RS2'd
    > 93 S4 with MRC Stg 3 software. I have been avoiding the 044 because of
    > the noise issue"

    This AM Marc replied:

"yeah, the DW300 is a great alternative. its very quiet. no louder than
a stock pump and flows almost as much as an 044. highly recommended."

I sent a reply (no response yet):

"Thanks Marc. What about the plug and play aspect? I see a metal collar in the photo on your website."

Get 040 or 044.Do not wory about noise.Smaller pump with same construction principle can not flow as biger one.Call Emil and ask him about his last 2 new"wonder" pumps. He got the 044 finaly.

Maybe they can, or at least can come very close, with less noise too. Newer pump technology versus very old pump technology?

Do not know how many "small, new tech" pumps did the job for you,i can say none of 2 pieces i tried.
But this is not important.Important is to understand how they work.If the pumps have same pressure buildup principle(roller type) the only way to get more flow with small pump is to increase rpm of the pump?
Is the pressure buildup principle the same at both pumps? How about rpm of the motors that drive the pumps?

VDO/Siemens versus Bosch fuel pump comparison info

I have never seen the inside of a 044 but thanks to Mcandmar, we have seen the inside of both a 091G application VDO/Siemens and a 091G application Bosch fuel pump. Both use two stage pumps, with a vane-type first stage feed pump and a gear type (second stage pump) (to give the pressure like the 20VT oil pumps). VDO/Siemens used plastic gears, the Bosch used metal gears. I would like to see a 044 that has been broken/cut open, as well as a Deatschwerks DW300.

And yes, more voltage = more rpm = more flow and pressure.

                That would be interesting.

To that end, I "turbo-charged" my 091G fuel pump back in August 2004.

Here is the DIY link (034 now markets a kit to do this):
