    Massive upgrade

    Hello,

There is a guy in Spain (I don't know him) with an S2 3b aiming at 550 bhp giving max torque as lower as possible.
Car will be use on road (weekends) and as many track days as possible

    What do you recommend?

    Block? Stroker or 2,2 litres
    Turbo?
    ECU?

Of course he will neeed a tubular EM and the IM with the air intake on the front if he wants low revs torque.

Ah! His budget is around 25.000 € for the whole project (engine, brakes, suspension, ...)

    So let listen to options.

@Minhea: How is your spanish? You might have a lot of work here if you are interested. As I will definetely recommend you.

@Lee: I think he might want your huge brakes. So PM me back with prices.

2.2 litres should do it easily, but a stroker would have benefits.

    tubular EM
    Dahlback/Hacke IM
    Huge intercooler
Massive Mihnea injectors (not sure where he gets them from)
Look into a different coil on the 3B and replace plug leads with genuine ones
    Conrods
    Lower compression to about 8.0:1
Turbo wise it will have to either a Garret GT35R or KKK K27/28, my K26/27 #8 is almost maxxed out running 480ish BHP
Mihnea can do the ECU of course
MAF sensor can still be used

      Cheers,

I was thinking he could replace the ECU and loom with and RS2 unit with all its coil packs. It should enter in his budget and he will get more stable ignition with it.

As well get and RS2 cylinder head.

What about cams (7A or RS2)?

Other than that I would recommend him

      Stroker
      GT35R
      Front mounted IM
      Tubular EM
      SQ MAF
      Minhea Inyectors and remap

What about the exhaust? 3,5 or 4 inches minimum I would think

He insisted in low down torque so I think stroker is the only way to go.
How low can you get max boost with the 3b block Tom?

      Cheers,

7A cams, forgot that. Also 4" exhaust. Max torque on mine is at about 3800rpm, thats 2bar of boost, i also have std intake manifold and lots of pipework!!

What do you think about ECU and wiring (money no object ) 3b or RS2?
With RS2 wiring is RS2 cylinder head a must?

3B head can be converted to ABY/ADU spec fairly easily, only thing is hall sender mounting, cant think if the 3B head has the holes drilled???

I would change to ABY/ADU type ignition, its more accurate and can deliver greater power. Although parts are very expensive. And can be a nightmare to diagnose, if they misbehave!
