RS2 turbo isn't too laggy, so faster spooling billet K24 7000 will be faster still. Rods can take 450bhp with the right map.

Lag is all relative, because you get much more power for longer up top.

As a guide, in 2nd gear, my chipped K24-7000 did 30-60mph in just over 3s but the chipped RS2 spec does it in well under 2.5s, despite not getting full boost until 40mph compared to just over 30mph for stock turbo. In general, you can be a gear lower because you have power until 7000rpm rather than 6000rpm.

You are right here indeed mate and I understand your point about the higher rpm pull. Although even the little 7000 is capable to bent the rods if pushed hard with a boost spike, especially in the States where the gasoline is pretty crappy (not more than a RON93)... As I understood well reading a lot about these engines, the AAN/ADU/ABY can take no more than 500-550Nm of torque (easily achieved at low-mid rpms).... I'd like to be inside the limit but not too far from there either in the meanwhile I do not need an engine rebuild.

Inside a high peak power motor maybe, with a map that is done for saving the rods. But as FabS6 is especially looking for bottom end torque, it would be nonsense mapping that way. Rods are killed by torque at low rpm, not by peak power.

And that is a point you should think about, FabS6- with a modified turbo you can get real early and real high torque. But this needs upgraded rods IMHO. So what you want, is kinda dangerous :-) Maybe that this point

"Hey wifey, wanna do my motor new!"
        "Nope. Only, when necessary"
(new charger, fitted by night, looking OEM...pedal down--*crack*"dagdagdag")
"ÄÄÄÄhm...Wifey? sounds to be necessary now! "

An upgraded S2 turbo comes nearly as early as a stock one, with full boost around 3000 rpm. The 2480 d compressor wheel from TSTT weighs 50gramm; the RS2 one´s weight is more than 80gramm, both can do similar overall power.

In Germany, TTE for example sell those turbos; they in fact are not the cheapest, but they do good work.

I am running this on full RS2 set up in my Coupe at the minute with a custom map and it feels really quick, will be on the Dyno next week for some figures so will post them for you then

Nothelle K26 exhaust turbine and shaft in a machined out K24 hotside housing (50 mm exit), brand new center section with 360 bearing mated to a genuine RS2 cold side back plate and compressor wheel with a K26 housing machined to suit.

Just realised it's K26 but might be another choice to look at it was built by AET

I have been running the Volvo turbo for over 3 years now, I also run the car on LPG. If you need anymore info let me know.

Hey mate! Well unfortunately I am breaking the car due to the impossibility to register it in Spain but I found a very nice Cyan red s6 as substitute that will stay in it's stock look as a good sleeper without any risk with the police and government's MOT.

About the turbo - I am making here at home an uprated K2470 with a bigger compressor wheel (billet), with a nice port and polish job on the tubine and intake sides (I am looking for a k26/27 as well to make the same job on it). All this mated to a ported polished log style hiflo exh mani, steam preturbo injection and alcohol injection for all over 0.5bar of effective boost situations.

LPG is off now... Not sure if will swap all the system from one car to the other.

Here is one pic of both cars... The cyan is not ready yet, there are more little things to swap.

                    Cheers

Too bad you can't register the green car.

The red car is beautiful. But I don't think that it is "cyan". Cyan was not one of the available UrS6 paint colours. But "ruby red" was. If it is Cyan, then it the paint code on the square build tag will not be Z3N = ruby red pearl effect. See paint code listings below the photo.

Thanks about that information, dave. I thought it was cyan red. So Ruby Red then
The green one is not green but black btw!

This is something similar to what i'm looking for mate...seems to be a #8 turbine housing... I need a #6 and need something cheaper as i will buy the billet wheel plus all the porting and polishing job...don't want to spend a lot of money on cars hehe

FabS6 may i ask you some silly question?why it couldn't be registered in Spain?
If this's some personal reasons to answer ,just skipped my question mate.

No no, no problems tho. First of all, my LPG system was registered in Italy with the CE certifications... Spain doesn't like those certifications and they ask for the Spanish one and to do it my car has to have the Spanish plates and to get them I need the LPG certification..... yes...a Spanish vicious circle.

Second of all. I needed the European certified technical data sheet to get the MOT acceptance to then register the car....the only one that could finally sign it on a stupid piece of paper was Audi Spain and they didn't wanted to do it after making a deposit of €350 (which gave me back after all) and their excuse was: "we can not do it becait that vehicle was not available on the market but after 1997".... I was like: Really???? Audi told that about the c4 box? Are you kidding me?!

That was the story and how my black s6 ended it's life after four years with me

Thanks FabS6. it seems like the main problem is about importing the car crossing the border between Italy and Spain.
Spain didn't accept the Italian Certified or some kind of.What a shame to see your car comes to the end.
