2.6 ABC engine electrics diagram?

Hi all. I know it's not S2 related but I thought I'd give it a try anyway. My engine suddenly developed what seems to be a serious electrical fault to the point that the car is nearly undrivable. Idle won't drop below 1200rpm, engine uses a LOT of fuel, while at the same time something draws the battery sometimes but not all the times and as a result in 2 ocassions the car would not start. Anyways.... if anyone has any experience with this specific engine it would be of great help. At this point I'm planning to test each fuse separately to find which one draws current, but I do not have an engine wiring diagram. Does anyone have one for this engine? Thanks in advance!

What year and body shape are we talking about here ?
I have all the B3/B4 schematics but they can vary a litre across the years.

Sorry my mistake. It's a 1993MY Audi 80 Avant FWD.

I had this problem on our 1994 2.6 80 Avant back in Feb 2009 before i even bought the car from the high street dealer. The car suffered with a high tickover ranging form 1,200-1,500 rpm and it made the car awkward to drive. The dealer got his man in and they diagnosed a coolant temp sensor.A genuine audi one was installed and the car has been perfect ever since.Give that a go!

Cheers I'll give it a try. It's something I was planning to do sometime ago anyway since the coolant temperature is too low. Still it won't explain why the engine didn't start on a few ocassions.

If it's overfueling when hot i beleive it makes it difficult to start anyway.
