Rigjt, i have bought a B6 1,8T quattro avant with what i think is knackered engine... The enginecode is AVJ, i can find loads and loads of AWT 1,8T engines from C5 A6 and passats but not alot of AVJ,s. AVJ seems to be an engine only put in the B6 between 01-02, mine is a 02. So, as i would really like to get the car running before Xmas as it is a gift for my missus, and to top this all off, the time in my mates garage is VERY limited i would preferably need a plug and play engine. So, what is the difference between them? Ideally i wouldn't even want to bolt things over not much more than maybe oilsump and other easy quick bits... Anyone got any usefull info for me?

All I can add is that the American market had most of the AVJ 1.8t in b6 models.
I can't remember which site I read from, maybe Audizine, or something like that and they are very familiar with the unit.
Maybe a google search will find the site I used, mine was AVJ in a b6 51 plate saloon
