    Transmission losses

Does anybody know how much percent or power the S2 loses through its transmission?

Its about 70bhp loss on the chipped ABYs which is indeed 25% of 280bhp.

Reckon on about 55-60bhp loss on a stock ABY. Different dynos calculate this loss in different ways but 25% is a good reckoner for a quattro.

But why worry, who in their right mind would put 380bhp through a 2wd vehicle
And be able to use it regardless the weather

You could put thinner tyres on, that would reduce the power losses

I could think of a corker with monsterous Hp on 2 wheels, TVR, or an AC cobra, (but the 427 cubic inch model was nicknamed the killer killing loads of people such as Dean Martin) 4wd is a much better option in my opinion.

Sorry lads, that audi quattro book lied to me!!!

                25% is quite a lot.

Mates 911 has recently had an engine rebuild and that is about 450+BHP!!! That thing is a handful in the dry, i dont think i would drive it in the wet!!

One member of our audifinns -list is using for every day driving a 411bhp/486Nm 10Vt engined frontwheeldrive Audi 100. He's still claming that huge power with front wheeldrive is no problem

                  Here's his site http://www.kolumbus.fi/etelanlampo/
It's in finnish but there's some nice pictures, videos and a dynoplot too.
