    S3 Hydraulic Lifters Help

Hi members, i have tried to load a quick video but no luck, so here i go anyway, i am testing my Hydraulic Lifters on my Apy engined S3
I soaked some in oil for over 48 hours then took them out and pressed down on the valve contact springy bit and they went down so far with some resistance but not solid??
My question is, should these move anyway when not under pressure from the engine running?? I do have a couple of lifters that are not pressing in and out?? is this because those two are seized?? or is it the free moving ones that are Knackered?? or are the lifters that move in and out good ones??
    Many thanks in advance.

They will compress as you push the oil out. Just buy 20 new ones from febi leave to stand for a few hours turn it over by hand a few times then give it a whirl. I did one Sunday
