    Help, poorly RS2. Bad chips?

Im having some issues with my RS2, car works fine on the standard chips, idle was a little lumpy but a new lambda has cured that. The issues start when I fit my recently bought TS tuning chips.

With the TS tuning chips installed, the car boosts well to 1.9 bar but when 5200 rpm is reached while driving it feels like the ignition is cut and the rpm needle drops to 0 and then back up to 5200 rpm repeatedly and the engine can be heard miss firing.

I can re create these symptoms when stationary and revving the engine, all is well up until 5200 rpm and the engine is cut back to 0 rpm then back to 5200 rpm constantly. if I push the accelerator further eg 6500 rpm it will cut to 0 again. When the standard ADU chips are replaced all is well again.

I have been fitting known good parts from my ABY S2 that runs well at 400 bhp.
    So far I have swapped:

    All coils 10k old
    new fuel filter
    new NGK plugs
    altitude/barometric sensor.
    new lambda.
    MAF sensor
    WGFV
    ISV
    cleaned intake temp sensor.
    boost leak checked-passed.
    Always run on super unleaded.

Does the issue sound like car or chips related? Could the chips be ABY rather than ADU ones and causing issues? Could the chips have errors on them while being made, eg incomplete data?

    Any help greatly appreciated.
If it is found to be a software issue I may see if PRJ does generic RS2 chips.

    Thanks, Dan.

If the issue isn't there with the standard chips I would say it's definatley the chips

It sounds like your hitting the hard over boost threshold which I think cuts ignition to protect the engine.

                Total bull*hit.

Rikki's the one who got it right.

The reason for this is ECU reset. If you can re-create it stationary and it's not there with stock software then 100% the chips are damaged.
If the problem was present with both softwares, it would be a trigger error @ flywheel/pin.

                End of story.

I had some trouble with my RS2 ECU chips as well, I got intermittent starting problems and sometimes occasionally it would die completely when driving. At times like that, you could notice the rev counter just drop down and the car was completely dead. It would take a hour or so, before it would start again. Changed the chips, and the car was ok.

I would say its your chips as well, since the std once works. Thats is how I found my fault.

@DJones. I did think that was the case too until I revved the car when stationary which caused it to cut also.

@PRJ, I was pretty sure you would have the answer, brilliant! At least I can stop chasing broken sensors and hardware on my car.

I had this exact same issue for a long time, on Ts chips.
I swapped for another set of Ts and it was sorted.
Some people said the ecu was knackered etc but it was just the chips, seriously Dan have a look at my old posts and you'll have exactly what I had, rev counter dropping to 0rpm etc I know exactly how you feel, it was very frustrating

                              Cheers, Dan.
