Hi guys. Changed the thermostat today, refilled the coolant(managed to fit 6 liters) and I can't get the air out of the system. Hooked up VagCom and temp rises to about 95C and won't go up, but thermostat ain't opening either. Thermostat housing hose is barely warm, so is lower rad hose. Been out for a drive, nothing changes. Scared to drive it now.

Had it written down on a bit of paper, as been meaning to do mine for ages (it doesn't get up to temp when cruising, only when stationary) along with the MFTS
Doing it now. What is it suppose to do? Because I put both old and new one in the sink, poured boiling water and they do nothing.?
Put them in a pan of water on the cooker, when the water gets hot enough , you will see the stat open. Pouring boiling water over it will not get it hot enough to open.
Both thermostats opened, I'll put it back on and heat the car up as much as I can, then leave it for the night and see. Because I couldn't get it open when it was on the car.
