So. Would i need a remap?

Ive just finished my project and test driven it today as the 2 test run. this time i tried getting into the boost field. I was having a hard time hearing if i had compressor surge at boost due to the heavy rain we were having. BUT!! first of all. If it was compressor surge, what could i do to prevent it?

Besides, it was making a bit chubby acceleration, and wen shifting, it had like 2 seconds where it stayed at the rpm i was at wen i tried to accelerate again before it moved.

    My mods is listed here.
Cat cams (cannot remember the angle though)
    Wagner reversed intake manifold
    Fox exhaust decatted.
Stock turbo but modified with another turbine wheel in the intake side.
    A monster intercooler.
MAF moved to pressure side of the system ( blow through MAF )
    Lightweight conrods.
    New pistonrings and all bearings.
MTM ECU chip for 263 hp.
Apexi pod filter with costum filter box.
Tighter Valve springs if im not mistaken (cant remember that one really)
New valves along with seats and newly renovated cylinder head.

To discribe the symptoms im experiencing.
    a bit unstable idle.
perhaps surging on WOT (as mentioned, not sure as i coudnt hear it clearly)
No reaction after gearshift wen going WOT again before 2 seconds had passed with "stuck rpm"
Chopping a bit once boost kicks in.

IF i do need a remap, are there any softwares that works for the S2 3B engine ecu? if not. How easy is the Vems engine management to install?

    Thanks in advance
    Kind regards

    Chris.

    1) Could you give me more details about the turbocharger?
    turbine? compressor wheel? (measurements?) billet?

    2) Maybe the intercooler fits not good to the engine system.
-> This could be a reason for the compressor surge.

    3) have you checked the valve timing? overlap?

Sounds like a boost leak to me...and possibly the intercooler is too big causing lag

Have you done all the work without any sort of remap? Would have thought the maf would need fiddling with if you've changed to blow through setup.. Maybe wrong though lol

No where near stock, of course it needs mapping. The ecu can only do so much...

              Yes it needs remapped.

As a temporary measure I would stick the MAF back in the stock location, unplug the n75 and you should be able to drive about fine.

                well. allright.
but i can asure you its not a boost leak. ive ran a boost leak test on it just before i mounted the front bumper.

First of all it´s Kryptonites answer +1...Check timing, and right cam setup. Also perfect ignition/ distributor timing (don´t know what motor ist is...).

The blow through MAF thing I don´t know yet, so no comment to this from me...but a question: Is the stock MAF used, but behind the turbo?

And also: What exactly was changed on the turbo?

It is the stock MAF with a costum alloy piping. this is hopefully just temporary as i would like to go mafless.
i do know the "stock adjustment" of the cams is right, and so are the distributor. But im still missing the perfect adjusting of the cams though.
The turbo has gotten new bearings and a special made intake fan which should improve its power output by up to 20%.

and it is a 3B engine by the way.

Have you changed the diameter of the MAF tube?
