Hello there, i am thinking about to put complete 7A engine (oem setup) into my quattro. But i have exh.manifold, complete electronic including sensors, intake manifold, turocharger and other stuff. Is possible to use 3b ECU with 7a engine? Of course there are mechanical difference between heads and for the second i know that i have to use special head gasket to reduce compression. Is there anyone using copper head gasket on 7AT? what thickness i have to use? or it will be better to use one of 034motorsport gaskets? thanks a lot for your advice

It works ok to get the CQ out of it's own way. I bought the beta car from Nate@034 with a untouched 7a running a T3-60 and making ~180whp. It had very linear power and between Nate and I almost 50k miles (I think) of beatings without issue. My time with it is archived here but I don't post on MG any more
After a few years with Nate's car, as I was starting to plan upgrades, I bought a 1991 CQ and sold the 1990. Subsequently, I installed a Holset WH1C and VEMS on the 7a in the 1991 (with FMIC). You can find more about this car here.
Sean Cole in the FB group for small chassis Audi was planning on putting 3b parts and ECU on a 7a but I think he just got a deal on VEMS. Regardless, my main concern with this would be heat from the stock turbo.Comment
