  • OEM Coils - How to Bench Test ?

One of my oem coils is faulty between 3k and 4k, as a set of 1.8T style coils cured it, but I was wondering is there a way to bench test which of the original oem coils is faulty, assuming no visual issues are obvious with the wiring ?

    Thanks.

Apologies to initial readers of the thread, I forgot to say that in December / January 2015 I'd changed the spark plugs to NGK, replaced the fuel filter, swopped in a good MAF, tightened all of the boost hoses, but as mentioned in the first post above it turned out to be one of the original coils breaking down under load between 3k and 4k under wot.

I've yet to examine / test them to see if it was a coil or the wiring.

HTH someone else in the future.
