    AAN Alternator 120amp - Part No. for a 15V Bosch Regulator ?

I know the oem regulator for a AAN alternator is a 14 volt, but does anyone have the correct part number for a Bosch 15 volt regulator for the AAN regulator ?

15 volts makes everything that bit brighter / better - fuel pump, dash lights, headlights, ignition system, wipes, horn, hrw, radio, etc.

Don't want to use a spurious brand.

    Thanks.

You might not be able to avoid a "spurious" brand if you want 15V. 14.5V is more common.

The PN for a 120 Amp Bosch alternator for a 1997 UrS6 is 046903015F, which is alternator version "6" according to my friend, Kate. The OE voltage regulator (probably 13.7V or 14V) for alternator "6" is 028903803E.

A previous post that I made:

"Please confirm these with your friendly parts person.

    110 Amp Bosch alternator for AAN = 054 903 015L
(This is no.11 on MG 9 SG 03 Illustration UEB)
    Regulator PN is 034 903 803

    120 Amp Bosch alternator for AAN = 054 903 015K
(No. 18 in the same list as above)
Regulator PN is 028 903 803D (or DX)

For later UrS6s (after VIN SN020155) the 120 Amp Bosch PN is 046 903 015F
Regulator for this one is 028 903 803E

    Or so Kate told me."

HUCO is an acceptable alternative to the Bosch.

With 15 V regulator you will destroy the whole car.

I used to have 90 amp alernator on my UrS4. Voltage was 13.8V usually, i suspect it had 14.0V regulator or smt similar.
I replaced it with 2.5tdi 120amp alternator with Bosch 14.7V regulator. Now when the engine is running the voltage is about 14.5V +/-0.1V.
15V regulator sounds a little extreme.

Bosch regulators can easily be modified with the addition of a diode to cheat the feedback loop of the regulator.

I used this 15 volt mod on my Mk 1 Golf G60. It improved the wipers, apart from stripping them down and cleaning out the old grease and reassembling them.

My H4 headlights, with metal shells, with each filament relayed, fitted with 100/160 watt bulbs in the headlights, and 130 watt bulbs H1 in the driving lights, combined with the 15volt reg made the headlights very effective, even compared to a modern car, no mind the normal Mk 1 candles.

The power for the headlight relays was taken directly from the 90amp Scirocco alternator, just to be sure.

Will post how I get on with a 15 volt reg in the UrS6.
