    AAN oversize pistons

    Hello,

I am rebuilding an Urs6 AAN engine for my B3 coupe quattro.

The cilinders need to be rebored, so i want oversize pistons. I was looking for OEM pistons, because they are good enough for my setup ( SMS k26 hybride turbo + SMS ECU ).

What are your thoughts about using OEM pistons? And can anyone supply the numbers of the pistons?

I cant find the prices for the OEM oversize pistons, so i cant tell if they are expensive.

And what would you recommand for aftermarket pistons? I heard bad stories about JE-pistons, and i dont know much about other brands.

So wich pistons are good, and what are the prices,?

      Thanks in advance

Or try wossner pistons. They run tighter clearances than other aftermarket pistons so are quiet and use no oil.

I like them in my stroker build...

I am not worried about the quality of the pistons, but with the wossner you have a compression drop from 9,3:1 to 8,0:1. I am worried about that.

After some research is found Mahle pistons 81,48mm with this number: 034 92 02, is there enyone who can confirm these are the oversize remplacerend pistons?

That is nothing to worry about, that is a very strong reason to go for 3bar and 900hp

                      Wossners are not 8.0:1
                      I calculated mine at 8.5:1 - perfect

Another option is you can use your original pistons if you get the block sleeved

FCP quote their pistons are 8.5:1, so I went with them in 81.5mm. They looked like pistons and all weighed the same on my digital scales, which is a good start but other than that, I can't say any more from my cursory glance. Service from FCP has been very good. Try Danny "DNA-S2" for parts too

Haha, dont think the sms k26 hybride can produce that kind of numbers

A screenshot in Russian, but should be clear in common.

Yes, i found the same info. I also found 1 picture with the pistons and on top of the pistons it says 81.48. In the info sheet it says cilinder bore 81.51mm. That should mean a clearance of 0.03mm. Is this correct?
