    High Revs

I have an issue with the car at the mo with it revving high ie when iv stopped, the engine continues to rev around 2000/3000 rpm range until i switch of the ignition and re-start it, then today i went for a run switched of went back about 10 mins later started the car and it revved straight to 4000rpm until i switched off again and re-started. It was a random issue at first but the last few days it's getting more frequent just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to their car. It seems to have started since i have had the 3" turbo back exaust fitted i have also fitted a new lamba sensor.

not seen it before on an S2 but my old pug 306 used to do this when the stepper motor was failing, would hold the revs high and then slowly creep upwards which was embarrassing at traffic lights after a while

Sure the throttle cable is moving freely and returning all the way when foot is off the pedal? Cant think what would be the direct cause, TPS maybe???

Someone else will be along soon with better suggestions/theory I'm sure

        That would be my guess.

Check throttle pedal and cable for obstructions or damage

Cleaned the throttle body checked for vaccum leaks all and moved no 5 lead away just got to wait now and see if it's cured the problem.
