No worries, that's a long time ago.
I have to wonder why a TV repair man from Sussex would use the German abbreviation (Lad) for the turbo side.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

Thanks for the input chaps.
I had to laugh about QST using a TV repair man to mod ECU's, however I expect one needs pretty dam good soldering skills to fix telly's. I didn't think anyone would bother these days with the throw away culture we live in, no wonder he's had to diversify.
I'm going to send the first owner a polite letter to see if he's preprepared to shed any light on the history, who know he may have some paper work tucked away, there again he could be dead.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

Sorry Kit i just had to comment. For QST to use a TV repair man just goes to show that Joe public shouldn't hold all tuning companies in awe like they do. I guess people fall for the slick advertising by these companies thinking they are gods, their not! To be a proper TV repair man means you need to be an electronics engineer and just so happens you might repair Tv's instead of building satellites.
For electronic engineers like my father was an ECU is nothing more than bread and butter work. Their soldering skills are usually exemplary reason why QST used one instead of going to the expense of employing one full time. Not all carpenters are brilliant, but the ones that are should be paid more than any other of the building trades as there skills are way beyond that of a plumber or electrician. That's coming from my own personal experience. If you see what i mean Kit.

Sorry, I missed this post, thanks for the response and the info, I take it your referring to my set up?
So I'm supposed to have a bigger exhaust? It looks stock to me other than the cat's which now I've inspected them again appear to be sports items of some sort.
Do you have any other info regarding the set up on my car?
I thought RS2 injectors were maxed out by 360 BHP or there about's.
Just be for a short blast to the shops and it is really spiteful on WOT above 4K RPM

I am in the US and have that same writing on my MTM chipset on my similar vintage urS6, so it is very probable that that coding was all done by MTM in Germany.Comment

Thanks for the response, cool, well that really does confirm that it's an MTM conversion, just got to work out who did it now.
Got the V5 (reg doc) back today so will try writing to the previous (first) keeper as I have a full address for him now.
As far as the DVLA are concerned the car has been in the hands of the motor trade for the last couple of years as Eric never registered in Ireland so I'm keeper number two, V5 says 'previous keepers 1'
A nice coincidence is the first owner acquired the car on 01/03/1995 and I got her on 01/03/2015, 20 years to the day after he picked it up.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

Nice symmetry there.
There is a rumour that it went to germany to MTM, and that it featured in a magazine back in the day.
I wasnt told the name of the mag, or when so it I didnt think too much of the info ,or even if it was true.Comment
