Missed this post.
Hmm, well, 'if' I feel like taking it off and slinging it you could take it too the tip for me I guess, however the odds of that happening are slimmer to those required to win the lottery on a weekly basis.

Still not found anything on the web, either on the exact specs of the conversion or any sign of old magazine's with MTM RS2's featured, I'm sure there'll be something tucked away somewhere, just got to persevere. If I could speak German it might help as there must have been mag's issued in the father land with such cars back in the 1990's.
Anyway, have written a letter to the first owner, fingers and toes crossed I get a response.
I want to be able to give my insurers exact details.
Spent all afternoon yesterday cleaning the dirty old CV grease someone had used from the door hinges and shuts, still got lot's of little tidying job's to do but have made a good start on the engine bay, was in the workshop until gone 1am last night. Some of the small bore pipe work literally disintegrates if disturbed so I'm going to change the whole lot for fresh OE pipe.
I've also change the coolant and thermostat and intensively flushed every part of the system, the block was pretty clean but I got a lot gack out ot the bottom of the rad. She was running a touch cool before and took a long time to warm up but the replacement stat has sorted that well and truly, she's up to running temp with 5 miles, took ages before.
Had a misfire after washing the engine so I popped the coils off to find a bit of water had gotten under the cover and into the plug recesses, so I blew it all clean with an air line and left them dry over night. Whilst I was at it I thought I'd check the plugs, while they were all a really healthy colour a couple looked ancient and they all needed changing by rights. So I whacked a new set of Denso PK22PR8's in that I to hand. I used the same plugs in my Coupe for ages without issue so I'm sure they'll be fine till a set of NGK's arrive. Also fitted the brand new coil pack boots that came with the car, thaks Eric, put it back together and all good no sign of any misfires.
Right best on with cleaning the engine bay.Last edited by K Simmonds; 15 March 2015, 14:52.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

I spent a couple of hours last night searching for Ragusa green RS2/German mag/MTM... came across mags like Autobild and such but no luck. If there's an article it's buried deep...RS2 - Project Mental Wheels

Yeah, I've also drawn a blank so far, but can remember seeing such features in magazines somewhere in the dim and distant pass.

Thanks very much Andy! You always seem to be able to pull useful info for somewhere, you'll be as efficient as Dave soon!
Well maybe it's 'just' the 340 conversion then, whatever it is I've decided to keep it on there, I really like the set up now I've serviced the car properly. It's probably slightly less laggy than a stock RS2 though there's really not much in it so very hard to say without logging equipment, a chipped RS2 would spool up much sooner. It does have a real punch to it over 4K RPM and the most boost I see is 1.6 bar, tappers to 1.1/2 at the red line, however there is at least some boost from 2K RPM onwards, not a lot but enough for the car be easily drivable in all conditions as long as one pays attention to what gear the car is in. Still getting used to having six speeds, and keep looking for reverse where 6th is
.
If it is the '340' conversion that shouldn't freak out my insurance company too much, well at least I hope not
On an entirely different mater how are you getting on with my box(s) of stuff mate?

Yeah switching between 3B and ABY was always interesting for gear selection
Work is alternating between a cardboard surplus and deficit, always entirely at the wrong time, so your pile of bits is box less, should get a delivery tomorrow and hopefully get it all boxed up tomorrow night, sorry

Yeah, wait for some more robust ones, it's not like I'm planning on building the engine any time soon, got plenty to keep me busy on the RS2.
Found the leak in the oil breather system, down by the Darleks head a PITA to get at but just clip. Then I have to replace all the small bore pipe work, the one to the FPR fell into three bit's when I touched it this afternoon.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

Decided to get stuck in and clean the engine bay, having been stood it looked a little sorry for itself.
Looked like this when I collected the car.
And after a couple of hours I've got this far, not going for bling shiny, just nice and clean, still got a lot to do with an airline and brake cleaner but I'm getting there.
. Could do do with some new EM heat shields, the front ones are pretty tatty.
Also fitted a cheapo Revotec boost gauge that came with my Golf G60, the vent blank/holder is from Bambridge, the gauge comes with basic white light so I used a red Audi bulb cover to get it somewhere near right. Will do until I can find an appropriate VD0 unit that matches the Aux gauges. Rubbish photo but you get the idea.
