I have just completed a ton of work on a friends type 85. One of the jobs was oil leaking from what appeared to be the leading edge of the sump gasket.
However after initial jubilation I was gutted to see it started leaking again. It is not coming from the crank seal and on closer inspection i suspect its coming from the gasket between the block and the oil pump about 1 inch above the sump gasket.
The plan is to attack the cambelt and while thats apart do the paper gasket while im at it.
I know its a sump off then obviously timing belt etc out of the way. Once they are is it a simple unbolt of oil pump and pull it forward? i assume its driven in the same way as other 5 cylinder lumps.??
Anyone got any pointers, advice from people who have had the pitfalls is appreciated so I can plan ahead. Many thanks in adviance Steven.
