Why do you want to fit it externally Pete? You need a pump in the tank to lift the fuel anyway, so you will need two pumps to set it up like this on the stock fuel tank.
Easiest solution is to fit the 044 in the stock in-tank location using a 7A pump basket and then just relay the fuel pump. Simples

I had that same setup on my last car. Used the factory in-tank pump as a lift to feed the 044 which was in the boot. Even used the original fuel pump wiring to trigger the (new) relay for the 044...worked a treat but a bit noisy at times

The reason for Bosch 044 pump is that I am going for RS2spec so my standard pump wouldn't be good enough and it's very noisy anyway.I have fitted the 044 into the tank Alex and a week later I just took it out.it was too noisy it was driving me mad.I know that I fitted it correctly and it was not touching anywhere, also the pump and all other parts were brand new and original so this is the reason why I want to put it under the belly.I thought that if the pump will be below the fuel tank The gravity will be enough to feed the fuel to the pump

I have an 044 pump in the tank in the stock location and I can't hear it at all with the boot carpet etc in, so something is not right with yours.
Are you sure it was a genuine pump? There are loads of fakes around at the moment. Are you 100% sure you mounted it correctly?

I'm 99,9% sure that I fitted it correctly.I followed the instructions from here and I know it was not touching the bottom or top of the fuel tank.I will have a closer look later on and compare with the pictures to make sure it's not the fake on but I have got it from the good source so the chances it's fake are very slim.

Check the pump basket too for damage etc. The 044 certainly can work perfectly as an in-tank solution

Thanks Alex,I will check it all.i forgot to mention-when the pump was running it was keep changing the sound as well like the voltage would be rising and dropping but voltage was constant.

The 044's aren't good at sucking fuel, only pushing it. Before I had the original pump feeding the 044, the 044 in the boot used to whine really loudly. After I connected up the original pump to supply it, the noise was considerably less. That may be your problem. Even though your external 044 under the car is beneath the tank, it still has to suck the fuel out before it can pump it; not good! My 044 used to change its noise too for no apparent reason. It was hardwired through a relay straight to the battery as well!

i used an 044 in the s2 in the tank. it was silent and work faultless. the metal cover helps the sound for sure in the coupe floor.

i even just used the stock wiring no relay setup.

i used a 3b basket and strainer ans the aby is narrow.

i now have an o44 on the outside. not sure how it will work but the kjet setup is designed for external pump only. i have built a relay loom and put it under the rear seat. using the stock wires to trigger the relay. the o44 is basically the same size as the kjet pumps so i have it attacehd to the orignial pump and filter basket.

I run an external 044 under my typ85(fuel.outlet on bottom of ttank on these) and it makes a hell of a noise. It seems quieter the more fuel in the tank due to more gravity feeding it. I tried it on stock wiring n the cables went a bit floppy.haha!

Thanks for your input guys.Just compared my pump with pictures in the thread-100%it is Genuine part.i really wish to know what is it about with this pumps-some people are perfectly happy with them and can't hear them at all and some are confirmed they running loud.
It's not much you can do wrong I think when fitting it.All parts are ok,basket etc.etc. no problems there.even with metal cover and carpet I can still hear it.
really funny-I just took it for quick spin and noticed ,when I brake hard it goes a lot more quiet and after few seconds it's loud again

is the pump low enough in the basket. and basket secured in tank surge properly. sounds like it quitens as fuel surges towards front of car.

lower the pump a bit in the holder.

i think these pumps prefer to be pressure fed if possible. Have you tried brimming the fuel tank and seeing what the noise does?
