      Guys and gals,

      Quick update on the car...

The other day my dads mate came over to check out the car. The first thoughts that came to my mind when I saw him were "s**t, this man is kinda old, I doubt very much he'd know a single solitary thing about the S2".

Then I saw him picking his ear with his car keys I'd then made up my mind "theres no way what-so-ever this guys gonna know what he's chatting about! I mean come on, how can you possible trust a man who picks his ear with his car keys! (oh and he also drives an H reg nissan sunny, which he convinced me is the way I should go when buying my next car!!!)

But boy was I wrong about him - he told me the entire history of audi, the s powered cars etc. And to cut a long story short, he pin pointed the problem to the fuel pump, he also told me about the oil patch, dodgy hoses etc (which, all of, Paul N had pointed out).

But, the most shocking thing was that, unlike ALL my dads other mates, he was honest enough to say that he would be unable to take on the job of carrying out anywork on the car, and that I'd be a heluva lot better of taking it to a specialist! He did tell me to get a second opinion first, just in case he's wrong. So thats what Ill be doing next week.

Doug, if it defo is the fuel pump, Ill give you a pm to chat about your spare fuel pump.

Alps - pm me your address and i'll send it to you asap - Having it in your hand will help if you take the car for a second opinion.

It is something you could do yourself - you have to be careful though as you are working with an open tank of petrol!

You need a tool (easily made from a few blocks of wood ) to get the pump unlocked from the tank.
