    Engine out soon for refreshment

    hi folks,

Just have my RS2 registered on road for a month after purchased it 2yrs ago! Now I am planning to take out the engine for some refreshment including:

    1/ cam belt, thermostat
2/ new engine / transmission mounts
    3/ new water/induction hoses.
    4/ new radiators
5/ new water pumps, coolant tank etc
6/ new fuel lines inside the engine bay (forward and return)

for turbo, I have not decided yet what to do, I may end up waiting for my mechanic to see how it goes in real before decide what to do. The car is bone stock and my goal is try to refresh it to original standard (though I have already changed the exhaust to Miltek since there are no. of rusty area along the pipe).

since the gearbox will out, clutch will be replaced too. But I am still debating whether I should change the DM to SM flywheel. I did this to my B5 RS4 and the rattle becomes a bit noticeable but in return I can ensure it will be worry free for long time.

Can anyone advice what else I should address at the same time? Consider the cost of labour of doing this job I may simply change as much as I can provided the cost of parts is not too much.

    Many thanks

If it's a bone stock RS2 in good condition, I would encourage you to stick with the DM flywheel. The car will be nicer to drive and worth more in the long run.

BTDT. If you change you'll be up for another new clutch.

A chipped RS2 with a billet RS2 turbo is no slouch.

    Any photos ?

Agree, the RS2 DM flywheel is very robust you will be very unlucky to have problems with it. SM flywheel will not suit an otherwise stock RS2 IMHO.

thanks folks, I have this feeling too, just not too sure how reliable the DM flywheel so check with you guys here first
regarding clutch, my thought is just third party clutch like Luk, is there any recommendation?
