    charcoal filter

ok im new to this forum so be gentle , i have a ur quattro which at the minute is completely stripped ( yes everything! ) that will become a rally car eventually, i also have an ABY engine that is going in there once it painted and all other bits are done.

My question is will it run without the charcoal filter, if i hook up the vapour valve thingy to the fuel tank breather?

AFAIK it’s only an emission regulation, rather than dumping the fumes into the atmosphere it stores them in the charcoal canister until they can be burnt in the intake mixture.

I don’t see any reason why you can’t remove it except the ECU will expect to see the valves connected to it, if you leave the valves there and plug the hoses up it should be fine..
