whats the max hp from a volvo 24 turbo

What is the max HP anyone has had from a k24 7400 turbo. im looking to get around 400hp. has rs2 ones are getting like hens teeth i need to look at something else thanks in advance.

If I understand correctly the Volvo unit, whilst being an excellent turbo, doesn't have the outright power capability's of a true K24 7200. So 400bhp is off the cards, well doing it safely certainly is. An RS2 turbo will do knocking on the door of 400 with larger (than RS2) injectors and perhaps some other supporting mods, ie downpipe etc.

If your looking for a cost effective way of gaining that sort of power I'd seriously consider one of the hybrid K26's that Albert from the forum is offering, they're great value for what they are. There's also various K26/7 hybrids knocking about that will happily do 400 BHP and some, though they are a little more laggy than an RS2 unit.

Genuine RS2 units aren't too hard to find, I picked up a virtually new one that'd only done a couple of thousand miles for less than £500 delivered from German eBay. There's also a few sellers on there offering new or at least reconditioned ones for well under a grand, so it's worth keeping an eye on listings from the land of sausages, beer and good time keeping.

VEMS does open things up a little regarding mapping and if you have the knowledge/skills to do it yourself then it could save a lot of time, hassle and money. It wouldn't be much help to me considering I struggle with a smart phone but I can see the appeal if your confident enough to map own car.

You won't see any extra power with the turbo's mentioned above over a well mapped Motronic ECU so the hardware requirements and limitations are much the same.

Value wise it's hard to beat an RS2 set up if take your time and pick up the parts when they come up for a good price.

I have been running the turbo for a few years, I'd say a good 350bhp, very good street setup, it can hold it's own against most things, 535d etc, it just eats them.

VRS sold hybrid RS2 turbos that did 400, Albert does a billet K26 that is 450+, iroz do a billet k26, you could get a holset, EFR, garret etc.

How plug and play do you want it to be, and how much do you want to spend?
