MAF repair and rebuild service - jenniskens.livedsl.nl

I googled Porsche 968 MAF after reading another thread about compatibility and I came across this website of a place that offers a MAF repair and rebuild service:

For 299 Euro (or 40 for testing only) according to here:

Anyone heard of them or used them?

In any case it may be of use if you're having trouble getting a new one.

Some more detail from the website below:

We have successfully replaced the MAF's old-style hybrid electronics by a modern design of our own, we are able to rebuild most of the MAF components, and we are able to adjust the MAF so that it is completely according to factory specs. The final action we do is put it in our wind tunnel and make a performance graph comparing it to factory specifications. Adjust accordingly to make it perfect again.
    ....
Here's an example of what a bad MAF output looks like.
We offer a repair- and test service. Repair price is based on a rebuildable core i.e. the sensor wire itself is ok. We provide a full functionality check and 2 years of warranty on our repairs.

The problem is not so much getting the transfer function right.

The problem is transient response, which affects tip-in and tip-out enrichment.
Also heatsoak is a big problem and affects different style maf's differently (lean running on hot start).

I don't follow exactly, are you saying that you think their new electronics will not behave in the same way as the standard electronics within the MAF under transient response and heatsoak conditions?

From their website I read that they just change the electronics inside the MAF (and perform some calibration) but they keep the original MAF housing, wire, etc.

          Yes but why?...

          Is it because of:
          1. their rebuild process; or
          2. 968 MAF Compatibility?

..Could it work IF we assume the 968 MAF is identical to RS2? (it has been stated here that they have the same Bosch part No.)

I told you why in my 1st post on the topic:

Sounds like you want to find out for yourself instead of relying on my experience. Go on.

New (well official Bosch re-con) ones can be purchased from Sparepartstore24.co.uk for about £220. That's for an S2 MAF, the RS2 one is something absurd like 1000 euros which is an awful lot extra for a couple of plastic screens.

New RS2 ones can still be had from Audi Tradition for about 400 Euro's, that's if you can deal with using the site without having a stroke, they also do the S2 one for about 300 Euro's. Well they did just before last Christmas.

Re-RS2 / S2 MAF how can they charge such ridiculous amount for the RS2 one when it is exactly the same electronically, as you say only difference is the mesh cover

                    Economies of scale.

I spoke to this guy a couple of years ago. He wasn't totally interested but willing to put some time into it if someone with a new/known good MAF and an RS2 would take all the readings for him with a multimeter. He basically said it would be a pain in the ***** and require alot of patience...

I think it's similar to the MUF

                              I'd go MAF'less but not MUF'less.
