3B or ABY whats the difference?

What differencis are you looking for?

3B has a dustributor ( spelling?) and only one ignitioncoil.
ABY has "direct-fire" mening five coils, one per cyl.

3B = 220hk 320Nm
ABY = 230hk 340Nm Overboost 380Nm

The basic engine hardweare is about the same.

Intake is different, injectors are diffrent.

main differance is 3b has a distributer and aby has coil over plug ignition

3B also has unhardened main bearing shells, paper head gasket (some abys do as well), clutches are different, and of course you have a 5 speed(3B) and 6 speed(ABY) boxes.

The Kerb Weight of the 3B is less than the ABYs - by a significant margin IIRC.

ABS cancel switch as well as 3B has light Servo steering.

The 3B's have an extra seal on the door that meets with the centre door pillar

Wow, didn't know that. Which ones are better? I'm prepared to renew the seals next summer as they're not very soft anymore and can't adjust the windows to get it fully silent.

The tiny bit near the roof is the difference? Or did you mean the door side vertical seal on the back end?

3B 5 spoke alloys dont look as good as ABY Avus 6 spokers (IMHO) and some have narrower tyres, battery under bonnet instead of under the back seat.

Originally the tyre size is the same.

Only RHD cars might have the battery in front.

LHD ABY climate control cars have the newer style climate and not the old "made in usa" _ugly_ one.

Oh forgot to add, intercooler and Inlet Manifold on the 3B are smaller than that on the ABY.
