    Rear mounted oilcooler

Hi, is it possible to run a rear mounted oil cooler (alĂ  Gr. B rally) + buffertank without a dry sump?

Can the stock oilpump handle it?

If you used large diameter pipes then why not. May need a check valve in it to stop it draining down.

Are there so big check valves? Everyone that runs the cooler like this uses them?

Its a really terrible idea with out a dry sump pump. Why do you want the oil cooler at the opposite end of the car to the engine any way??

Not something I would try. You'd need a lot of oil too..

I like the big spoiler as the rally cars and the oil cooler underneath it. also weight distribution ect ect

I've got an oil cooler for the gearbox next to the fuel filter, and even that seems like a long run of pipework, and extra weight.

I agree with all above sounds crazy to me. The stock oil pump can only supply X volume of oil per RPM.

Better maybe putting a plate type heater exchanger at the engine or gearbox and running water on the secondary side with an electric pump and a water radiator mounted somewhere remote.

I agree but as long as your hoses are large enough diameter to cause low pressure restrictions then oil flow shouldn't be negatively affected. Oil flow will be the same at the same rpm and pressure so as long as you don't cause a big pressure drop it should be ok. But a heat exchanger would be best.

It's propably the radiator under the rear spoiler.

I've always just kept it simple with an air cooler behind the front bumper or grill
with an adapter and some braided lines. Can't go wrong there.

Maybe have in a separate open circuit with an electric pump simply flowing out and in the cooler?
