Maybe not a true S2 thread but at least I have a S2 body in mind asking these things. You'll get the point once I get to the point, I guess.
So. How much power output can a V6 bottom end take? I'm thinking 2.8 ltr Audi V6, both the 2 and 4 valve version. Any major differences to the 2.7 or 3.0? The 2,7 can handle at least 380hp (RS4 spec that is) - but if I get a 2.8ltr and build my self a supercharged version - how much can a stock 2.8 crank handle? What about the conrods?
I was at the NEC in Birmingham last month at the Motorsport show and I saw a pretty cool A3 Sportback - 400hp R32 engine, WRC-ish gearbox and front- and rear axles...
A supercharger placed upside down under a IM with a water pre cooler for the charge air, airfiletr mounted behind angine and a small yet effective airscoop on the hood, you know, kinda like on Subarus only Audi-fied... Black. Might be cool. The key issue is wether or not the bottom end of a V6 can take the heat... (7000rpm and like 380-ish hp and a low end torque like a freight train!)
