i would like to know the 7a cams in what motor did u find it and whre can i get 7a cams i am in south africa.

Uhhh that'll be a 7A engine from the non turbo 20V coupe or sedan quattro circa 1990-1992.

Scrap yards, but you may find it hard in SA. Or go to the dealer and order them!!

They arent cheap tho

I should've nicked the cams out of my 7A before I sold it.

They went up last year. They used to £150 each.

I paid 100 quid for a pair of 7a cams about a year ago, these were good condition secondhand ones tho.

Why are the Cams so expensive, especially the RS2!

Has anybody every thought about contacting Piper or Kent Cams for replica cams at a fraction of the price?

Good point. A mate of mine had piper make a custom cam for his metro GTA (we were young, he's got a pulsar now) and that was only about £200 for a one off special.

Custom? Now that could get interesting. I wonder what difference it would've made, swapping 3B cams to a 7A.

What do you mean, the difference to the 3B or the 7A??? If you meant the 3B then it will allow it to flow more at top end

No no. The 7A. I'm sure the guy who bought it probably wouldn't have noticed. Or would he?

2mm more valvelift,gives more top endpower
