Well, some positive progress made last night. I changed out the bleeder valve with a new one and boy was that thing an absolute c**t to get to. Skinned knuckles, sore fingers & an overflowing swear jar! Anyway, eventually changed it and cleared the stored fault code. I just re-read the codes just now after driving it into work this morning and NO 00561 code present, f'kin result!! That's the first time in my ownership its never had that code
I still have to give it a right good beasting on the way home but I think it might be fixed (fingers crossed). The new pressure regulator/control valve should be with me tomorrow so I'll change that too ASAP as the old one is 'slightly' manky inside. I'll try to grab a couple of pictures for Dave as well as it was his link that steered me this way.
Cheers as always for the help guys, hopefully I won't need any more for a while *touches wood*

1) Good news. Had to laugh a "manky". Is that like a skanky man? Well, I got the new pressure regulator valve fitted tonight...the old one was pretty crusty inside and the flame deflector looked more like a lump of coal! For future reference, here's a couple of pics I took of both valves:

Yikes: I guess removing and cleaning (washing in solvent) once and a while (every 2 years?) might be something to consider in the future.

TBH Dave, I don't even think washing with petrol or the like would shift this stuff. I wasn't oily, in fact I would have said it was more akin to dried out tar. A lengthy bath in an ultrasonic bath would probably be better but then for the price of having that done by a 3rd party and no guarantee of success, replacement would be a better option. The orange diaphragm wasn't in the greatest nick either...
In future though, I may very well remove it periodically as you say and give it a wash out with something
It could be a placebo but, changing this seems to have smoothed out the idle a little too, happy days!
