Timing belt expiration date

Guys,

I just bought a new timing belt for my ABY, but the expiration date is Jan/2013.

What do you think, can I use this one? I did not know about this expiration date.

I´m changing my timing belt in every 4 years, but I thought that these 4 years were because of use.

How it works for storage?

I had the same and decided to buy another...not worth the risk on a relatively inexpensive part
