does any one know how much power they are good for?
and how do i test them that they are ok?
Wich power stage shuld i use??
the reason i am wondering is that i am thinking of using them to an after market ecu.
what ECU are you thinking of? I used with LinkPlus AAN stock ignition coils, but when 2 of them began not to work, then I put 5 coils from BMW (got them 6 for ~75Eur)
the finnish s2 video that whas linked here few times, has ~700 hp and for my knowledge runs on s4 std coils, there hasbeen few attempts to measure coils in Finland, audis has one at least once, to measure coils are tricky, to do it right:
get two plexiglass panels make a frame and make a window of it so that the inside of the frames are air tight and the frame is so thick that you have compressed air airlet in one side, place for preasure meter and spark plug place. Then add power and visually see if good spark is created, then add "boost", aircompressor, and add preasure and the plug and coil pair that gives spark at the most preasure and biggest gap. There must be bleeder hole becouse oxygen is burned in one single spark and the air must be changing all the time but not so fast that it ruins the test.
not straight to fit, so had to use all 5 coils, will see for part nr. in garage and make photo
Would be great I'm unsure if mine are OK, but the price on new Audi ones are such that you don't buy new ones just to test. A cheaper alternative is always nice
any ideas if this can be right? it seams that coil 1 is mnearly shorted
It can be just your multimeter, or bad contact on the connector.
You are measuring low woltage wire, but you can not measure high voltage one.
However if you multimeter is not cheap chinese, but serious measurement instrument, then you need to check contact for corrosion and clean it. If impedance variations remain the same, you can suspect ones which have biggest drift. I mean coil 1 and possibly coil2.
