    K24 rebuild kits

    Hey guys!

Was surfing the web and stumbled upon K24 rebuild kits from eBay.
    http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...r+kit&_sacat=0

Are these any good? My turbo is blowing a bit of oil into the intake, but since I intend to swap it to an RS2 unit, I see no point in taking it to a turbo shop for a 300 euro rebuild. I could just get a kit like that and do it myself.

So, are these kits legit? Many places to order from. And will I need to take the turbo to for a balancing after the rebuild?

I am sure it isn't quite as simple as you think. Getting things back together so the factory balancing isn't messed up would be your biggest challenge. (Also remember that some threads might be reversed).

I have written this post comparing the UrS and S2 K24-7000 and the RS2 K24-7200 (note shaft size differences between the K24-7000 and the -7200):

I have written this post about rebuilding the K24-7200:

In which I recommended this kit, based on twoqu's (Robin's) recommendation:

I searched their site and might have found the kit for the smaller shaft -7000 (contact them to confirm):

I wouldn't just buy randomly off ebay. Contact Turbo Rebuild - Co - UK.

As far as I know my turbo has already been rebuilt at some point. I doubt that factory balance has been kept, they probably rebalanced it. I can leave marks on turbine and compressor wheels, to align them the same they were. Or I can just rebuild it and get it to a local turbo shop for rebalancing.

The turborebuild.co.uk kit does not contain the compressor back plate O-ring, which I suspect is the faulty element in my turbo. I would like the full kit.

This one looks legit ^. Turbo Rebuild eBay page.
