Generally you don't. What are you trying to do? Align the cam sensor and the crank sensor?

You need to line things up so the cam timing mark and the crank timing marks are at top dead center, and then the marks on the 3B distributor need to line up *AFTER* you install the distributor back in the head.

        Cam marks:

        Crank mark:

        3B distributor marks:

If you don't line up the marks on the distributor spot on, the car will run but you will not get full boost. Use a mirror to see.

Isn't the 3B ignition adjustable just like it is on any old distributor based car? I could advance or retard the reference point from which ECU started to adjust the timing on many old engines.

Yes it is but you have to lock something up in ecu to set it but how. Now when I turn distributor. Car compensate now so I can not set the ignition

Timing advance is controled by the ECU, you set the distributor in one position and the ECU takes it from there.

It's movable but that doesn't mean that you "adjust" it like an old straight distributor car. As 220hp says you want those marks lined up exactly when you have the cams and crank at TDC. Otherwise, it would be like being a tooth out on the cam position with an ABY or ADU or post Feb 1992 AAN.

Maybe. I could use it to adjust the reference point for the ECU in a ABK Digifant. ECU had to be set into Basic Settings to do that. We achieved 12 degrees initial advance up from 6 when I made some mods on it with no detonation whatsoever. 2 liter NA car ran pretty fast on 100 octane petrol. Always thought you can do the same on a 3B, oh well...
