I work offshore so when on leave the S2 is used only as a toy, because of island life and roads, there is very little in the means of traffic jams, start/stop at traffic lights etc, so perhaps the unresponsive nature of the 7200 low down might not annoy me too much??? I guess i won't know until i try though! So are we saying that below 3k theres is no turbo presence felt at all?
Mapped 7200 vs mapped 7000

Quick vid of my S6 with the 7400 unit, brief spec RS2 manifold, 3" exhaust, FMIC, RS2 injectors, mapping by S2central.
Probably over revved it in the video, managed a 14.1s, car has done 13.6s before with same setup, different driver.....

Nice video, fairly launches the big S6 off the line. This is defo my turbo of choice but getting it mapped is going to be a hassle, my 3b is still using distributor so really need to change to coil packs to make things easier. I guess S2central or PRJ would provide a chip since they've already mapped this turbo.Comment

It's a fairly big difference, and makes an S2 genuinely fast rather than very brisk...
Lag is there but as the stock turbo runs out of puff earlier, the 7200 offeres a lot more up top, so unless you are always in town, the extra oomph is there with a simple gear change. I took the plunge a few years ago and have never regretted it.
For the record, the stock RS2 tune is pretty quick too and certainly more powerful that the quoted 315.Cheers'en, AndyC

I had a similar proposition. I originally went for an non RS2 turbo as I couldn't find a good example.
I then bought a Billet K26 and started looking at mapping.
An excellent low mileage RS2 turbo came up and I jumped on it, sold/refunded on the other turbo, and bolted the RS2 up, mapping was simple PRJ affair.Comment

I have seen your oil temp gauge jumping up real quick lol.Quick vid of my S6 with the 7400 unit, brief spec RS2 manifold, 3" exhaust, FMIC, RS2 injectors, mapping by S2central.

Sals old RS2, changed the exhaust to 3" and did 350+ on the dyno on stock tune, that was at Weston

Some impressive figures can be got squeezed out of that turbo alright, I was in Andy10v S2/RS2 setup but at the time it wasn't running right so didn't get a true feeling for the potential. It would be handy if someone in the Aberdeen area has an RS2 setup so i could pop round for a visit before going offshore. If there's anyone be sure and get in touch

You should try Bushmills from here in N.Ireland, I find its a lovely place between Bourbon and Scotch
Back to turbos, given your away at times would be possible to simply have car drop of somewhere an mapped for the 7400? the compressor housing can be machined to match the wheel so piping stays as is just like with the 7200Comment
