AN fittings - opinions & experiences please

I'm plumbing up my turbo on my spare engine right now and looking at some AN fittings for it, as well as the oil cooler and some other bits & pieces. Its all getting quite expensive so I ant to do it right. I've never used this kind of gear before.

I'm told Earls are the best, but I simply can't afford to and don't need to go that high end. Been looking at Speedflow and also been recommend the Torques fittings off ebay. Sure they are about 2/3 the price of Speedflow, but they don't look as substantial and I'm wary of cheaper stuff for essential parts, especially the oil system. Any one got any experiences to share or other options to consider?

I used Torques parts to do my entire fuel system and some parts on the turbo and I'll use them when I do the oil cooler. I also know of a few others that have used them without issue

You get what you pay for mate same as everything in life.

I have earls, i also have some speedflow and a few torques bits because like you said it gets expensive.

You can have a poke around at ADI, The earls stuff you could hit with a punch and it would not leave a mark. The speedflow would and well the torques would be...

Its worth speeding alittle more. Mine comes off quite alot and the earls stuff really stands up to it. Get aload from the states its half the cost.

I got most of my turbo oil and coolant pipes from James Lister Motorsport in West Brom. Not cheap but nice quality. Oil cooler pipes were from Pirtek, they make then up while you wait so you can have the fittings clocked at the correct angle before they're crimped. Hth.

I used to use Goodridge, as I had a contact there, but for most of the stuff on the S2 I used Speedflow, mainly because Faye there is really helpful, and is relatively local, and I find ordering stuff very straight-forward.

It is a little depressing when you spend £k's on AN stuff, and just a few small boxes turn up in return.

I used Hose Fittings UK direct and through eBay. Fine if you want fittings at a sensible price. Depends what you want to spend and what you expect for your money. Their delivery is better than anyone else I've dealt with on eBay.

Forgive my ignorance but what is the reason one needs AN fittings?

I want them so I have a reliable serviceable flexi-hose solution to the turbo plumbing - the OEM stuff is great for KKKs but once you go aftermarket the OEM stuff either needs heavily modifying or simply can't be made to fit. AN/JIC is universal
