Take off the sump and check a few bearings. Has the oil pickup tube came loose or blocked?

lot of noise from bottom end and no oil pressure means i'm sure the engine is broke
problably the crankshaft and rodbearings are gone and your crankshaft is damaged
you can remove the sump and than the rodbearings with the engine in the car but i woud take the hole engine out and take it apart
problably a other engine is a better solution!

It doesn't look good. As said it could be that a bearing has spun, Pickup is blocked or has come of. Oil pump problems. Most likely has spun a bearing. That's what happened to mine when I first bought it.
Why has it been standing for two years. Have you checked the oil.

I feel your pain. I dodged engine damage on mine due to low pressure. Already started to rebuild.

Do oil pumps die on 20valves? How to tell if oil pump is dying?

Another example of a car breaking more when not used than when used regularly.

Drain the oil, get the sump off and remove the bearing caps. Autopsy is the only way now.

I also had this once on a Audi 80 which wasn't used for 1 year.

I think the oil pump was so dry it wasn't able to make vacuum to suck the oil out the sump. I just filled the engine oil to the level of the oil-pump and cranked the engine with the spark-plugs removed. After that i had oil pressure again Of course you need to drain the excess oil after that.

That's an interesting car, I used to follow the thread written by the guy who did the RWD conversion, has it still got the big Garret turbo?

How long has it been run with no oil pressure? Any longer than a few seconds will normally cause damage to the main bearings and as has been mentioned it may have spun one.

In any case I'd remove the sump and see what's going on...

connecting rod bolts are a false economy not to replace.

I once rebuilt an engine for a kit car re using the con rod bolts on the advice of an engine repair shop who told me they wern't stretch bolts...

They were stretch bolts and within a very short period of time the big end was banging and clattering and a piston presented itself through the side of the block on my way to my mates garage to strip it down and check what was going on

as already mentioned; you've got to drop the sump and have a look - you may even find that the bolts have come undone...

I'd put my money on the dry oil pump. Without oil they can't make vacuum to pickup oil from the sump. Unfortunately it sounds too late now. You can remove the oil senders and use a syringe to inject some oil into the passages. I've managed to get a dry pump working through priming it with this method.

IMHO that was a nasty ghetto build that ruined a perfectly good car, so I'm not surprised its got issues. Personally I would start from scratch and rebuild the car properly
