Sorry for the odd question but what is the right pop off direction on the RS2 stock system? I think in mine it is not right.

Turbo (pressurized hose) from the side, maf (intake hose) from the bottom. Assuming, that small hose is "top".

The picture above with pressure from "bottom" - seems to be incorrect, because at certain level of boost, it can push the diaphragm and get out as a leak .

At least what audi says here http://www.quattro.ca/3b/0032.jpg

(huge picture, picture you need is on the bottom of it).

If you have pop off with really hard spring (rated at 1.5 bar for example) then you connect pop off whatever way you want.

BTW, this is my opinion, it may be wrong

Thats the way it is designed to go.
But it will work in either direction. Some people run aftermarket valves the other way.

Me for example . However that small black bosch thingy, which was blown on my engine, seems to be designed to work from the side.

The stock TBV's don't like being the wrong way round - BTDT !

Most aftermarket piston type ones don't mind which way round they go ...
