    AAN: Aftermarket Pistons w/Motronic

I have seen some people have done AAN rebuilds using after market Pistons. Has anybody that ran aftermarket Pistons with Motronic noticed any adverse effects in regards to knock control?

Yes, it's possible to get "ghost" knock with big clearance pistons.

So by "big clearance" you are referring to the difference in piston/wall clearance that the after market pistons require over the Mahle stock pistons?

Sorry if that is a dumb question.

Yes. Forged 2618 alloy need really big piston/cyl clearance, 4032 can be used with smaller clearance but still clearly bigger than the stock piston/cyl clearance.
