VAG not reading ABS

I have an abs light on in the instrument cluster.
I've tried to clear it with the VAG, but my VAG won't read the ABS.
All fuses on the side of the dashboard are fine so don't know where else to look

is the car in question you are trying to read 1997 Ur-S6?

Yes it's a late 1997

does this model still have the ecu under the rear seat or does it have everything at the pump like in newer models, like c5 etc.?

The ecu sits under the front passenger floor mat

sorry no experience with those
try a better reader and/or put a charger on a cars battery as cheap vcds are quite sensitive to voltage.

Do you have a permanently lit ABS light? could be power supply issue and/or the faulty module itself

Yes the abs light is on perminantly and ive cleaned the wheel speed sensors too

it is not the sensor signal if you have abs light before you start driving.
