    UrS6 - Pinking on sudden WOT - Cures ?

As per title, I can hear pinking on sudden application of wot. The car reacts positively to the wot, but I'm thinking it shouldn't be pinking ?

Can it be the performance / ability of the two knock sensors can deteriorate over a period of years ? Pretty sure mine are original.

I don't believe the petrol being used is at fault.

    Thanks for any help.

G61 and G66 Knock Sensor info

Pinging or pinking is either too much advance from the software or fuel with too low octane or both. Make sure the fuel is good and consider issues with the G61 and G66 Knock sensors:

      I assume you're using 98 fuel not 95?

Maf under reading. Isn't max used to determine timing on motronic? Try a test with it disconnected?

Bad fuel is the usual suspect though...

Crappy Irish fuel is almost certainly your problem as the ignition timing map on the homefry is just a tad too aggressive for our fuel. I always found the Applegreen brand E5 worked the best, but the knock sensors still pull the timing back under heavy load in the midrange.
